CHURCH COOKBOOK:  Sisters in Service is sponsoring the preparation of a Church Cookbook.  You've seen those books with everyone's favorite recipes to be shared with all of our friends.  Now we want to put together a cookbook of all of our favorite recipes.  We already have 100 recipes, and now we need 100 more - from you guys as well as from the gals!  Get out your favorites and either    e-mail them or hand them to Kathi Tope by Oct. 31.  Her e-mail address is kmtope@wowway.com.

Monday, Oct. 27 - 7 p.m. -SIS MEETING - This evening's meeting will feature Ruth Lindhagen, Family Nurse Practitioner, speaking on "What Every Woman Should Know About Osteoporosis."

9th ANNUAL MEADOWBROOK WOMEN'S RETREAT - Our annual Women's Retreat will be held close-by this year on the evening of October 17 and all day on the 18th at the Homewood Suites in Troy, MI. "The Cup of Life" Seminar will be led by Sharon Bailey of Charlotte, MI. The weekend begins on Friday with testimonials and praise songs.  Three sessions will be led by Sharon on Saturday, along with praise and worship time. There will be a craft time where we will be making no-sew fleece blankets to benefit Project Linus (instructions and materials list are on the retreat table in the foyer).  We'll attend lunch and dinner together. Detailed brochures are available in the foyer.  For more information, please call 248-340-9215.

Worship Leader & Praise Team Director: Randy Gilbert.   Our praise team leads the worship service on Sunday mornings. This group of volunteers love to sing, play instruments and worship Christ. They meet to prepare for the Sunday service and learn new music to enhance the worship experience.

LIFE GROUPS

ALL GROUPS ARE STUDYING MATERIAL FROM "THE TRUTH PROJECT."

Choose from one of three groups that meet every other week at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursdays and the 1st and 3rd Fridays.

L – Lights in a dark world
I – Investigating God’s Word
F – Fellowship, sharing
E – Encouraging

L.I.F.E. Groups are location-based small groups facilitated by co-leaders and hosted by members of the congregation. Groups meet for a time of Bible learning, prayer and fellowship with the goal of bringing people to maturity in Jesus Christ. Currently three groups are meeting: one in Rochester Hills everyone other Wed. at 7 p.m.; one in Rochester Hills every other Thurs. at  7 p.m. and one in Shelby Township at 7:00 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Fridays.

All groups are currently in a study of "The Truth Project." A time for prayer brings members closer to Christ and to each other. Fellowship is also an important element of the evening for members to share their concerns and joys with one another.
